About Parcelato
What is Parcelato?
One shared record of a family's house: the papers, the things, the people, the rules and a log of every change — for the moments a house changes hands. Plan ahead, move to a smaller home, settle an estate, or separate a household.
Is it legal advice? Will it hold our money?
No and no. Parcelato is an audit log, not a law firm. It gives no legal, tax or valuation advice, never holds money, never sells anything for you and takes no commission. Your lawyer or notary gets a free read-only seat and a shorter hour.
Who is it for?
Adult children settling or downsizing a parent's home, a surviving spouse settling an estate or moving to a smaller home, parents who want to decide and be heard while everyone is still here, two adults separating one household, and the professionals around them.
Does it work in my country and language?
Parcelato works anywhere. The app is in English by default and Spanish by choice; money is shown in your currency; identity verification uses a licensed provider for your country. Laws differ by country — ask a professional for what applies to you.
The record
What goes in a record?
The house (address, value range, shares), the papers (deed, will, tax, insurance — filed, due or missing), the things (photos, condition, value range, wishes with a memory, claims and votes, who kept what), the people (by role) and the rules the family agreed. Every change is logged with a role and a time.
Why roles instead of names?
Because a record is shared by design and names are private. On a record you appear as Mom, executor, son or daughter — or a nickname, an alias or your real name if you choose. Your email is never shown. Professionals see real names only for people who switch that on.
What is a wish, and why does it lock?
A parent tags a thing for a person and can add a memory in their own words ("Her first piano lesson, 1994"). Once the parent is verified, the wish locks: nobody can edit it later, and it becomes the starting allocation when the estate is settled. The memory travels with the thing to whoever keeps it.
How do memories and threads work?
A memory is a short story about a thing: who used it, where it came from, why it matters. Open the thing, tap Add memory, and write a few lines. Anyone in the record can add one; only the person who wrote a memory can edit or delete it, and the others reply underneath, so each thing has a thread. A memory is not a wish: a wish says who should have the thing, a memory is the story. When the record continues into the next stage, memories travel with the thing, with the original writer and date, and the thread shows where it started.
Why a value range and not a price?
Because nobody knows the exact number and pretending otherwise starts arguments. Photo recognition suggests a range with a condition; you confirm or change it. Exact amounts exist only for purchase prices and ledger entries.
What is the change log and can it be edited?
Every change — who added, decided, deleted what, and when. It is written by the database, not the app, and nobody can edit it, including us.
What happens when the situation changes?
One tap. A plan becomes a settlement with the wishes as the starting allocation; a downsizing becomes a settlement with prices and papers already there; when the estate is settled, what each heir kept moves to their own household with its history attached. The original record keeps its copy.
Privacy and security
Who can see my record?
Only the people you add to it, in the role you give them, and you. Nobody else, not even other Parcelato users. We never sell data or show ads. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
Is Parcelato certified (GDPR, SOC 2, ISO)?
No. We hold no certification — no ISO 27001, no SOC 2 — have had no independent audit and have not yet completed a formal GDPR compliance programme. Our privacy policy is written to the GDPR standard and describes what we actually do today. We are an early-stage product run by one person, and we say so plainly. We will update this answer when it changes.
Where is my data stored?
On our hosting provider's infrastructure in the EU and the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest, with row-level access rules and private file storage. Identity documents never reach our systems; only the verified / not verified result does.
Do you use AI on my data?
Only one thing: when you add a thing, you can let Parcelato look at the first photo to suggest a category, condition and value range. That photo is sent to the recognition provider for that one request and is not used to train anything. Papers, people and memories are never sent to an AI provider.
Can I export or delete everything?
Yes, at any time, from the app. Delete removes your profile and the records you own within 30 days, except invoices the law requires us to keep and copies other family members are entitled to.
Plans and payment
What does it cost?
Nothing, for now. Parcelato is in early access: there are no prices and no paid plans. Accounts are free, by invitation, while we build with the first families. When paid plans arrive we will announce them at least 30 days ahead. If you want to support development, you can buy us a coffee — it is a gift, not a purchase.
Who pays when a family shares a record?
Once paid plans exist, the record owner. Everyone else on the record — editors, viewers, professionals — pays nothing.
What happens if I stop paying?
Not relevant until paid plans exist. When they do: nothing disappears on day one. You get a notice on day 1, 30 and 59; on day 60 the record becomes read-only; after six months read-only it is deleted, with a final notice a month before. Reactivate at any point and everything is restored. Settlement records stay readable as a permanent archive.
Can I get a refund?
No. All fees are non-refundable, and at checkout you agree that the paid service starts immediately and waive the 14-day withdrawal right. You can cancel any time and keep the plan to the end of the period. Try the free plan first; pay only when you are sure. See the refund policy.
How do I get access?
Parcelato is in early access. Email info@parcelato.com with a few lines about your situation, or sign up in the app and request access; we open accounts by invitation, usually within a few days. Free access during early access is a courtesy and can be paused or closed at any time — we will warn you and keep export available.
Help
I forgot my password.
Use "Forgot password" on the sign-in screen and we email you a reset link. If it does not arrive within a few minutes, check spam, then write to info@parcelato.com.
How do I invite my sister, or our notary?
Open the record, go to The people, choose Invite. Pick a role; a name is optional and theirs to reveal. Professionals get a free read-only seat.
Something is wrong. How do I reach a person?
info@parcelato.com reaches the person who built Parcelato directly. We answer within two working days; sooner when a family is in the middle of a settlement.
