Terms of service
In plain words. Parcelato is a record-keeping tool for a family's house, papers, things and people. It is not a law firm, not a bank and not a marketplace: it gives no legal, tax or valuation advice, never holds money, and never sells anything for you. It is a global, early-stage product, offered as it is, built by someone who has lived through more than one of these situations, run by its founder as an individual, with no certifications yet. During early access it is free and by invitation, and we may close access at any time. You own what you put in; we keep it safe as well as we reasonably can and you can take it out at any time. By creating an account, signing in, or accepting an invitation to a record, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
1. Who we are
These terms are a contract between you and Parcelato ("we"), an early-stage product operated by its founder as an individual; it is not yet a company. Contact: info@parcelato.com.
2. What Parcelato is — and is not
Parcelato is software that lets a family keep one shared record of a house: its papers, its things, the people involved, the rules they agree and a log of every change. It supports four situations: planning ahead, downsizing, settling an estate and separating a household.
Parcelato is not:
- a law firm or legal service. Nothing in the product, on the site or in our guides is legal, tax, financial or valuation advice. Checklists, suggested papers, value ranges and status labels are general information to help you organise; they are not a substitute for a lawyer, notary, tax adviser or appraiser in your country. Laws on inheritance, probate and property differ by country and change; you must check with a qualified professional.
- a bank, escrow or payment service. We never hold, transfer or manage your family's money or assets. Any payment to Parcelato is only for our own subscription or one-off fees.
- a marketplace or agent. We never sell, list, appraise for sale or broker anything for you, and we take no commission on anything your family sells.
- a legally binding record of ownership. What your family writes in Parcelato is your family's own record. It does not transfer title, create a will, or replace any register, deed, court filing or notarial act. Decisions and votes in the app are a record of what the family agreed, not a legal determination.
3. Early-stage status
Parcelato launched in 2026 and is run by its founder as an individual, not by a company. It holds no security, privacy or quality certification (no ISO 27001, SOC 2 or similar), has not had an independent security audit, and may change, pause or stop features while it grows. We say this plainly so you can decide what to keep in Parcelato and what to keep elsewhere. By using Parcelato you acknowledge this status and accept the service as it is and as available, within the limits that the law allows (see section 13).
Early access. While Parcelato is in early access, accounts are opened by invitation only: you may request access and we decide, in our sole discretion and without giving reasons, whether and when to grant it. Free and trial access is a courtesy, not a purchase: we may limit, suspend, lock or close it at any time, with or without notice and without any compensation. We will try to tell you first and to keep export available so you can take your data with you.
4. Your account
- You must be 18 or older and able to enter a contract.
- Give us a working email address and keep it current; service notices go there.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us it has been compromised.
- One person, one account. Do not create accounts for other people; invite them instead.
- We may refuse, suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after notice where practicable.
5. Records and the people on them
- The person who creates a record is its owner and controls who is on it and in what role (editor, viewer, professional). Owners can transfer ownership.
- Everyone on a record can see the record according to their role. Add people by role; a real name is theirs to reveal. By adding someone you confirm you have the right to do so and that you will tell them a record exists.
- Verified wishes, claims, votes and decisions are recorded with the role that made them and the time. Parcelato shows what was agreed; it does not enforce it.
- When a situation changes (for example a plan becomes a settlement), the owner can move the record forward in one tap. Copies made for each heir's own household belong to that heir.
- Professionals (lawyers, notaries, agents, move managers) get a read-only seat at no charge and must use it only for the family that invited them.
6. Your content
You own everything you and your family put into a record: papers, photos, texts, memories, decisions. You give us only the licence we need to store it, show it to the people on the record, back it up, and — for photos you choose to analyse — send them to the recognition provider for that one request. We never use your content to train AI models, for advertising, or for anything other than running the service for you. You promise that you have the right to upload what you upload and that it does not break anyone's rights or any law. You can export your record at any time and delete it when you want.
7. Acceptable use
Do not: use Parcelato for anything unlawful; upload malware or content you have no right to; try to access other families' records or our systems; scrape, copy or resell the service; impersonate anyone or misrepresent a role; use the record to harass, intimidate or defraud another family member; or circumvent plan limits (for example by splitting one household across several accounts). We may remove content and close accounts that do, and we cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.
8. Identity verification
Some actions (locking a wish, voting, owner roles) can require a person to verify their identity through a licensed provider for their country. The provider's own terms apply to the check. We receive only the result. Verification confirms that a document and a face matched at the time of the check; it is not a guarantee of anyone's legal capacity, authority or entitlement.
9. Plans, prices and payment
During early access there are no paid plans and no prices. Access is free, by invitation, and a courtesy that we may limit or withdraw at any time (section 3). You may support development with a voluntary contribution ("buy us a coffee"); a contribution is a gift, buys nothing, creates no obligation on our side and is not refundable.
When paid plans launch, we will publish prices in the app and on the site and give at least 30 days' notice before anything becomes chargeable; people who joined during early access will be told what, if anything, changes for them. From that point the following applies:
- Prices are shown in US dollars (or your local currency where offered), include VAT where it applies, and may change for future periods with at least 30 days' notice; the price of a period already paid never changes.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled before the renewal date. We email you before each renewal.
- Payment is processed by a payment provider; by paying you also accept their terms. Failed payments may suspend paid features after notice.
- Professionals' read-only seats are free.
10. No refunds; cancellation
Our full refund policy is part of these terms. In short: all fees are non-refundable. You can cancel a subscription at any time and it stays active until the end of the paid period and does not renew. By completing a purchase you expressly request that we start providing the paid service immediately and you acknowledge that, once it has started, you lose the 14-day right of withdrawal that consumers in the EU/EEA and UK otherwise have (Directive 2011/83/EU, art. 16(m); Spanish TRLGDCU art. 103(m)). Nothing in this section limits rights that the law does not allow us to limit.
11. What happens when a plan ends
Nothing disappears on day one. We email on day 1, day 30 and day 59; on day 60 the record becomes read-only; after six months read-only it is deleted, with a final notice one month before. You can export at any point and reactivation restores everything. Settlement records remain readable as a permanent archive while your account exists.
12. Availability and changes
We aim for the service to be available at all times but do not promise it. We may change, add or remove features; if a change materially reduces what you paid for, you may cancel and we will credit the unused period to your account; a refund is given only where the law requires it. If we ever decide to shut Parcelato down, we will give at least 90 days' notice and keep export working until the end.
13. Our responsibility to you
What we promise: to provide the service with reasonable skill and care, to keep your data as described in the privacy policy, and to let you export it.
What we do not promise: that the service is error-free or uninterrupted; that value ranges, categories, checklists or status labels are accurate or complete; that any decision recorded in Parcelato is legally effective; or that the record will be accepted by any court, registry, notary or authority.
Limits. To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost data that you could have exported, or disputes between family members; and our total liability to you for all claims in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, or EUR 100 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited under the law of the country where you live as a consumer.
14. Your responsibility to us
If a third party brings a claim against us because of content you uploaded, a person you added without the right to, or your breach of these terms, you will cover the reasonable costs and damages that result, to the extent the law allows.
15. Ending the agreement
You can delete your account at any time in the app. We can end the agreement with 30 days' notice, or immediately for a serious breach of section 7 or for a legal requirement. On ending, section 11 governs your data; sections 6, 13, 14 and 16 survive.
16. Law, disputes and consumers
These terms are governed by the law of Spain. If you use Parcelato as a consumer, you also keep any mandatory protections of the law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts of that country. For everyone else, the courts of Spain have exclusive jurisdiction. Consumers in the EU may use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not bound to use an alternative dispute-resolution body, but we will always try to resolve a complaint directly first: write to info@parcelato.com.
17. Other terms
- These terms, the privacy policy and the refund policy are the whole agreement between us about Parcelato.
- If a court finds a clause unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- We may update these terms; for material changes we email you at least 30 days before. If you do not agree, stop using the service before that date and tell us; you may cancel with a pro-rata refund.
- You may not transfer your account; we may transfer this agreement to a company formed to run Parcelato, with notice.
- If a translation of these terms differs from the English version, the English version prevails.
